Speakers:Pinn Lawjindakul, Partner, Lightspeed Venture Partners ($12.71B raised): Pinn joined Lightspeed in early 2020 as the first member of the Southeast Asia (SEA) team. She is focused on helping grow the Lightspeed platform in the region and invests primarily in consumer and financial technology companies.
Prior to Lightspeed, Pinn has worked alongside founders across all business life stages in China and India, most notably in companies such as Flipkart (sold to Walmart), Ola, Hike, Razorpay, and Uxin (NASDAQ: UXIN). Having spent meaningful time in the U.S. and around the world helps her understand trends in mature tech economies and contextualize those learnings to emerging markets in SEA.
JJ Geewax, Director, Applied AI, Google DeepMind ($1.13B ARR): JJ leads Applied AI at Google DeepMind in Singapore. Prior to DeepMind, JJ spent over 15 years building at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, API design, and global payments across Google and Meta. At Google, he served as Principal Software Engineer leading Google's contributions to Mojaloop, an open-source real-time payment system for financial inclusion, and represented Google on the Mojaloop Foundation's Technical Governing Board. He also led the API Design team across Alphabet and co-founded AIP.dev. At Meta, he worked on WhatsApp, Ad Signal, and served as a technical advisor to the COO. Earlier in his career, JJ was VP of Engineering at Invite Media, which was acquired by Google in 2010. He is the author of two widely-read books — API Design Patterns and Google Cloud Platform in Action (Manning)
