Come celebrate Pakistan and India's 75th Independence Day party with us this Monday evening as we commemorate the day when both countries achieved independence (Pakistan - Aug 14th & India - Aug 15). For the very first time we are putting together a joint celebration for both countries as we celebrate the night away with yummy street food, music and dancing at one of New York's most popular desi restaurants for street food and drinks - Desi Galli in East Village!
ALL are welcome - bring your Desi and also non-Desi friends along :)
Desi Galli has been featured in: ABC News(TV), TimeOut (Kelly Choi)(TV), Jus Punjabi(TV), NY Times. Time Out voted their Aloo & Paneer Tikki as best sandwich, & Village Voice voted their Bhel Puri as one of the best dishes in NY!
Food and drinks will be on individual tabs. Purchase of at least one food item is required, as the venue has very kindly blocked out their entire space for us to put this event together for the Desi community & friends!
We will also be playing human bingo to facilitate meeting new people, and will be giving away prizes that include a painting from a Pakistani artist representing desi culture and a $50 gift card from Vintage India!
We encourage bringing friends! - please feel free to invite your friends and show some love for both nations' birthdays!
