Speakers:Maria Markusjan, Europe Lead Ex-Goldman Sachs, EQT, Hg 6x $1B+ exits (Plaid, Square, DocuSign), Citi Ventures: Maria Markusjan is the Europe Lead for Citi Ventures, based in London, where she leads investments in transformative fintech companies across the European market. Since joining Citi Ventures in 2023, Maria has led investments in innovative companies including Tuum (core banking infrastructure), Defacto (embedded finance), Anyfin, PPRO, Soldo, and Forto, alongside LP investments in Shapers, Fin Cap, QED, and NYCA.
Prior to Citi Ventures, Maria held positions at T-0 Ventures, Hg, EQT Group, and Goldman Sachs RocketReach. She focuses on identifying investment opportunities in Sweden and across Europe's thriving startup ecosystem ArcticToday, with particular interest in embedded finance, digital infrastructure, and climate tech. Maria holds a degree from Stockholm School of Economics.
Hussein Kanji, Founding Partner ($450M AUM) Deliveroo, Darktrace $10B+ in portfolio exits, Hoxton Ventures ($450M AUM): Hussein is the Managing Partner and Founder of Hoxton Ventures, one of Europe's leading early-stage venture firms. Founded in 2013, Hoxton has backed 80+ companies across three funds, including early investments in Deliveroo, Darktrace, and Babylon Health. Hussein was named to the Forbes Midas List Europe in 2023. Prior to Hoxton, he was an Associate at Accel Partners and held a senior role at Microsoft. Earlier in his career, he worked with three startups, all of which were acquired. Hussein studied Symbolic Systems at Stanford and holds an MBA from London Business School.
Simon Edwardsson, Co-founder & CTO AI data platform ($36M raised) GE Healthcare, Siemens, Merck, V7 ($36M raised): Simon co-founded V7 in 2018 with Alberto Rizzoli after first co-founding Aipoly together in 2015. He leads engineering and product as CTO. A Chalmers University computer engineering and computer science graduate, Simon previously researched at Tokyo Institute of Technology and led R&D at Retail Solutions Inc.
Dave Palmer, General Partner Co-founder, Darktrace ($5.3B exit), Ten Eleven Ventures ($1M ARR): Dave co-founded Darktrace in 2013, serving as Chief Product Officer through to its 2021 LSE IPO. He joined Ten Eleven Ventures as General Partner in 2022 to lead the firm's first office outside the US. Before Darktrace, Dave spent over a decade at UK intelligence agencies GCHQ and MI5. He's a member of the UK Government's Defence & Economic Growth Taskforce.
Rich Wagner, Founder 2M+ customers, £600M+ deposits, Zempler Bank ($1.35M raised): Rich founded Cashplus in 2005, long before "fintech" was a category, and rebranded to Zempler in 2024. Under his leadership the company secured a full UK banking licence in 2021 and reached profitability — a milestone most challenger banks have yet to hit. After the Access Bank UK acquisition in early 2026, Rich stepped into an advisory role on the Zempler board.
