Held on December 4th inside the historic People’s House, this special concert continues the Conservancy’s commitment to offering enriching, inspiring, and deeply meaningful cultural experiences for New Yorkers and visitors alike.
SoHyun Ko, is currently studying on full scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music under legendary mentors Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec. Her artistry has been recognized internationally since childhood; at just eight years old she was invited by the Stiftung Mozarteum to perform on Mozart’s original violin in Salzburg, an event broadcast across Europe. Her long-standing mentorship with Zukerman has led to acclaimed performances, including Bach’s Double Concerto in Korea and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. A decorated competitor, SoHyun is a multi–first-prize winner, most recently taking top honors at the 2025 Artur Balsam Duo Competition. And this year, she was selected as one of 24 violinists worldwide to participate at the 58th Premio Paganini that was held in Italy, Genoa.
Yadi Liang is an award-winning pianist celebrated for her sensitivity, versatility, and expressive refinement. A First Prize laureate of the Yamaha Music Awards (China) and Artur Balsam Duo Competition, Yadi has performed on some of New York’s most iconic stages, including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Lincoln Center, and the 92nd Street Y. A devoted educator and collaborator, she has served as faculty pianist at the Heifetz International Music Institute and the Castleman Quartet Program, and holds an impressive range of degrees and holds D.M.A. from the Manhattan School of Music.
Together, SoHyun and Yadi form an electrifying and expressive duo. Since meeting at the Manhattan School of Music, their collaboration has blossomed into a partnership grounded in artistry, imagination, and a shared commitment to exploring repertoire with depth and precision. Their 2025 First Prize win at the Artur Balsam Duo Competition is a testament to their remarkable musical chemistry.
This concert is a meaningful expression of the Gracie Mansion Conservancy’s mission: to preserve, protect, and activate Gracie Mansion through programs that connect New Yorkers to the City’s cultural and historical legacy. Music: especially performed live within these storied walls, creates a bridge between the past and present, inviting audiences into a shared experience of beauty, heritage, and artistic excellence.
With Graceful Keys and Lyrical Strings, the Conservancy continues its tradition of transforming Gracie Mansion into a vibrant home for artistic expression and community engagement.
