Speakers:Jennifer Tegan, Managing Director, New York Ventures, Empire State Development: Jennifer Tegan serves as Managing Director of Empire State Development’s New York Ventures. In this role, she oversees more than $320 million in direct and indirect investment programs, including the NYS Innovation Venture Capital Fund, the Pre-Seed and Seed Fund and over $150M in fund of funds for emerging managers and accelerator partners. Through all of its programs, New York Ventures mission is to drive innovation, job creation, and long-term economic vibrancy in strategic sectors across all of New York State and for all New Yorkers by serving as its catalytic venture capital arm.
Geeta Kapadia, Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, Fordham University ($1.10B AUM): Geeta Kapadia is the Chief Investment Officer of Fordham
University, where she manages the endowment of $1 billion in
assets and oversees all aspects of the portfolio management
process. Prior to joining Fordham in August 2022, she was the
Associate Treasurer of Investments at Yale New Haven Health
System, where she led the team responsible for managing over
$5 billion in system assets. Prior to joining Yale New Haven in
2009, she was a senior consultant at Mercer in London and in
Edinburgh, and she served as the head of marketing at Capital
Metrics in Pune, India. She earned her BA from the University
of Chicago and her MS in financial markets from Illinois
Institute of Technology. She is a CFA charterholder and serves
as board president of Chester County Family Academy.
Brinda Ganguly, Executive Vice President, NYC Economic Development Corporation: Brinda currently oversees NYCEDC’s impact investing efforts. Her portfolio at NYCEDC includes various impact investment funds, New York City's Industrial Development Agency (NYCIDA), a conduit issuer of tax-exempt bonds (Build NYC), and a New Markets Tax Credits portfolio.
She serves on the board of directors for FJC and the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA).
In her spare time, she is an avid traveler, reader, cook and family enthusiast.
