Free Friday "Astronomy Night" @ Intrepid Air and Space Museum
Fri, Sep 27, 05:00 PM - 09:00 PM (EDT)
Intrepid Museum, Pier 86, W 46th Street
20 attendees
I just found out the Intrepid Air and Space Museum, that aircraft carrier floating off West 46th Street, is hosting one of the last free Friday nights of the year tonight. Two astronauts and the chairman of Vaya Space (a rocket company) are suppose to be on hand today. I have a late afternoon meeting but I'll try to make it by ~6:30pm and I'm happy to give an unofficial tour of the ship and it's aircraft. I wrote my longest paper in college on a bit of World War II history: the long-standing code breaking effort behind the poly alphabetic German cipher Enigma.
Details are on the link below. They usually have telescopes for astronomy nights but that depends on weather.

Note: there is always a chance they get too many people going but I don't think this is a big risk.
