She was a flight attendant for 3 years until the pandemic and then transitioned into working remotely for a tech company. In July 2022, her circumstances changed (tech took a hit and many companies did mass layoffs) and she took on a new adventure to solo travel for 4 months in Europe while Couchsurfing, podcasting and sharing her experience on Instagram. Check out her podcast. Emily Fang is the CoFounder of Asian Wander Women and The Fang Girl on YouTube. She has previously managed and built communities at Stripe, Google, and HeavyLabs.AI (previously OmniSci). During the pandemic, she found herself in Singapore and loved it so much, she ended up finding a job and staying for almost three years. She currently rotates between San Francisco, Singapore, and Taiwan while being location independent. Dan Deng is a Chinese-American software engineer, originally hailing from Philadelphia PA. After college, Dan worked at a variety of technology companies across Silicon Valley and New York City. In August 2022, Dan quit his cushy 9-5 tech job to fulfill a lifelong dream of nomading through Asia, with the ultimate goal of living and working in the Greater China area. In the past 8 months, Dan has traveled to Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. Long term, Dan hopes to support other nomads making the transition to Asia through knowledge sharing and community building. Henry Wang is a YouTuber and an ex-Google PMM. He’s currently in Singapore doing a startup accelerator with Antler. Henry quit his 9-5 job in September 2022 after working in tech for 9+ years. We are planning for a Supermomos trip to Singapore during the week of Dec 18, 2023 - save the date! We will have friends in Singapore who will take the group to eat delicious local food at cool places such as the hawker center featured in Crazy Rich Asians! There'll also be groups checking out speakeasies and nightlife. In addition to an amazing foodie and cultural experience, meet new friends in tech & finance in Singapore, and of course, also bond with those who are on the trip together! The trip will generally be free and easy, and we'll also help to put together groups that want to travel around the rest of Southeast Asia the previous week of Dec 11. Stay tuned for more :)
